How cute is he?!

How could anyone not enjoy this photo session? Jonathan is such a cute and sweet little boy - I had a blast with him and his parents Sunday afternoon. I went to their home - a beautiful old farm-type house by a pasture. Not to sound too cliche... It's a picture-perfect place!

Thank you, Lynna, for allowing me to spend time with you and your family at your beautiful home!

practicing

I asked my sister to come over so I could try some things with my lights. We had fun in the "studio" and then went outside for some. It's nice to have the lights when you want the 'studio look', but really... I prefer more natural-looking photos.

I'm loving this more and more as I'm doing it more!

Baby Tripp

I had a great time photographing baby Tripp Sunday! He was very cooperative until he got hungry, but that's to be expected, right? :-) How adorable is he?!

homecoming sweethearts

I have beautiful sisters, so it's exciting when they ask me to take photos for them! Saturday was the Madison County homecoming dance. My sister came over with her friend and their dates for photos before the dance. Her friend was late getting there... It was a challenge getting shots after dark, but I also got some good ones while we waited. :-) Overall I'm happy with these, and I think they are too.

Rachel took these photos while I set up my lights (it got way too dark to shoot without lights). My camera settings were way off and it was super dark outside. Thanks to Lightroom and shooting in RAW I was able to save these, and I kind of like the look of them...

Then I used the lights outside. I've never done that before, but there wasn't room in my little make-shift "studio" for everyone. So if you drove by our house Saturday night around 8:00, you would've seen some crazy folks flashing lights in the front yard. :-p New challenges can only make you better!

Thanks for a fun evening, guys! I hope y'all had a super great time at homecoming. :-)

Evening at Watson's Mill

I had the privilege of spending time with this family at Watson's Mill State Park. The older boys were good sports, and the two younger kids loved being photographed. They popped into a pose when I pointed my camera at them - it was so cute!
